More power for patients

Our plan for Building Britain’s Future depends on having a nation of citizens supported by world-class healthcare. We're committed to providing services based on need, not ability to pay.

We’re continuing to establish new rights for patients, improving access to NHS dentistry and GPs all around the country. We’ve reduced waiting times, so patients with GP referrals will have enforceable rights to receive hospital care within 18 weeks, or see a cancer specialist within only two weeks.

These plans will mean the next generation of public services will be more attuned to people’s needs, ensuring greater flexibility, choice and freedom in how they and their families lead their lives.
